Meet Leah Dowdy

I am so honored to be a member of the Young Professionals Board at Midori & Friends! Music class was always a safe haven for me growing up. It was a place where I could express my emotions and be my fullest self without fear of judgment. As a music professional, I now hope to empower and inspire and the next generation of music creators and executives to chase their dreams one joyful note at a time.”  – Leah Dowdy, Young Professionals Board

Leah Dowdy is a bright and energetic New York City based actress, dancer and singer/songwriter. From appearing in television shows such as How To Get Away With Murder, Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens and Girls5Eva, to starring in commercial campaigns for Hilton Hotels and even performing live on the TODAY Show, Leah is a busy artist on the rise.

In addition to her work in front of the camera, Leah is also a full-time Membership Manager for the Recording Academy, home of the prestigious GRAMMY Awards. As part of the Membership & Industry relations team, Leah oversees the Musical Theater and Classical divisions nationwide and is tasked with recruiting the industry’s best and brightest to be considered for Recording Academy membership. She hopes to continue opening doors, breaking glass ceilings and positively impacting the lives of musicians for years to come.

Midori & Friends wishes you a music-filled holiday and a Happy New Year! Please consider giving the gift of music this holiday season. With your help, we can orchestrate a community where every individual has access to the transformative power of music.

In the vibrant landscape of New York City, arts education programs are facing a challenge. Recent budget cuts have cast shadows over arts and education, threatening the very essence of our cultural enrichment. Your generous contributions enable us to defy these budget cuts and continue our mission of providing high-quality music programming to students.

Please consider making a donation today and be a part of our mission to ensure that music remains in our schools. The impact of your donation is measured in the notes played, the melodies composed, and the futures transformed.
