Midori & Friends Honors Randall Goosby as Inaugural Recipient of the 2024 Harmony for Change Award


New York, NY – October 1, 2023 – American violinist Randall Goosby has been announced as the inaugural recipient of the 2024 Harmony for Change Award presented by Midori & Friends. This prestigious accolade recognizes remarkable young musicians who have emerged as champions, leaders, and advocates for the classical music community.   


Signed exclusively to Decca Classics in 2020 at the age of 24, Goosby is acclaimed for the intensity of his musicianship and his determination to make music more inclusive, bringing the music of under-represented composers to light. Goosby’s steadfast commitment to social activism shows his dedication to fostering a more inclusive and harmonious world. Goosby will accept the award at the Season of Lights: Benefit for Bright Futures on November 30, 2023.

  • The Harmony for Change Award prize of $15,000. 
  • A recital in the prestigious 2023-2024 Crescendo Circle, featuring Midori, Jonathan Biss, and Yefim Bronfman.  
  • Two appearances at Midori & Friends partner schools in New York City where Goosby will engage with young musicians and demonstrate the transformative power of music. 
  • One masterclass with NEXTGen Teen Musicians to mentor the next generation of aspiring musicians and nurture their talents and artistic growth.
