Midori & Friends Board of Directors Updates

A special message from Howard Sendrovitz,

Midori & Friends’ Chair of the Board of Directors:

I am thrilled to share some wonderful news from Midori & Friends today. Our organization’s mission to bring music education to under-resourced communities continues to thrive, and it is with great pleasure that I announce the addition of three remarkable individuals to our Board of Directors.

Please join me in welcoming:

Marcelo Tau

Marcelo Tau serves as COO at David Yurman overseeing Supply Chain, Technology, Real Estate and Indirect Procurement. His dedication to empowering young people through arts and sports aligns seamlessly with our mission.

Megan Jakel

Megan Jakel serves as Deputy Director Leadership Giving at Baruch College.  As an advocate for education and equity, Megan’s extensive background as a world class dancer with Alvin Ailey and her educational leadership is an invaluable asset. Her commitment to providing educational opportunities to all mirrors our core values.

Heidi Aronin

Heidi Aronin serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. Heidi’s expertise in governance, philanthropy, and her deep-rooted love for the arts make her a perfect addition to our board. Her insights will undoubtedly contribute to our continued growth and success.

These three individuals share our vision of nurturing the potential of young musicians and expanding their horizons through music education. Their expertise, passion, and dedication will undoubtedly help Midori & Friends reach new heights in our efforts to expand what music education can be and to make it accessible to all.

As Chair of the Board of Directors, I am incredibly excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for Midori & Friends with Marcelo, Megan, and Heidi joining our team. Together, we are poised to create an even more significant impact and to inspire the next generation of musicians, leaders, and arts advocates.

Please join me in congratulating and welcoming Marcelo, Megan, and Heidi to our Midori & Friends family. Together, we will continue to make music education a reality for all communities.
