Play to Learn
Instrument Instruction K-12
Play to Learn provides instrumental and vocal instruction for students during and after school hours. Students receive 10-20 weeks of instruction and showcase their artistic growth in a culminating Midori Matinee performance, guided by Midori & Friends Teaching Artists. Play to Learn follows the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts and Blueprint for Teaching & Learning in Music: to Create, Perform, Respond, and Connect.

Ju Jin-Bornet
Violin
A native of South Korea, violinist Ju Jin-Bornet has been performing and teaching in New York City since 2008. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance from the Manhattan School of Music and her Master’s degree in Violin Performance from NYU Steinhardt School.

Guitar
Ayodele Maakheru is a NYC-based musician, composer, performer and teacher. Maakheru has spent over four decades on stage working on Broadway productions including Paradise Square, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Color Purple, and more.

Liz Chidester
Chorus
Liz Chidester, originally from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, is a prolific Americana singer/songwriter. Her music has been featured on NPR's All Songs Considered and has won NPR's NewSong Songwriting competitions.
