November 14, 2008 Special Midori Adventure Concert at P.S. 91
On the morning of November 14th, Midori and pianist Jiayi Shi made a special visit to the students of partner school P.S. 91 in Glendale, Queens. Principal Kenneth Lombardi greeted eager students and guests including Council Member Anthony Como; Mr. Yukihiro Ohira, Ms. Satoko Yanagi, and Ms. Rima Yamazaki of The Japan Foundation; Glenn Young of The Taproot Foundation; and Board members Byron Gustafson, Geeta Sharma, MD and family and Nozomi Terao. After the wonderful concert featuring works by Vivaldi, Liszt, Schumann, and others, President Judi Linden presented a gift to Principal Lombardi thanking P.S. 91 for their outstanding commitment and dedication over the years of our partnership.
